Free Book Promotion for Indie Authors: Get Featured by FiiP Before Pricing Begins

Getting readers to notice an independently published book can feel harder than writing the book itself. You finish the manuscript, survive the editing, approve the cover, publish it, and then discover that thousands of other books are all waving their arms for attention.

FiiP is creating a new free book promotion opportunity for indie authors, but the free portion will not last forever.

For a limited time, independent and small-press authors can submit their books for consideration in a FiiP feature at no cost. As the program grows, FiiP plans to turn it into a paid promotional service, with feature pricing beginning around $25.

That means this is the time to get your book into the review queue, before “free” becomes one of those lovely words we remember fondly.

What Is a FiiP Book Feature?

A FiiP feature introduces readers to an indie book and the author behind it.

Depending on the book, genre, timing, and promotional schedule, selected authors may receive:

  • A featured spot on FiiP.net
  • A mention in the FiiP newsletter
  • A social media spotlight
  • Possible inclusion in a themed book roundup
  • An introduction to the author and their personal story
  • A reader-friendly presentation of the book, cover, description, and purchase links

Every feature may look a little different. Some books may work best as individual spotlights, while others may fit naturally into genre lists, seasonal collections, author interviews, or newsletter recommendations.

The goal is simple: help deserving indie books become easier for readers to discover.

We Want to Feature More Than Your Book

Readers often want to know more about the person behind the pages.

Why did you write the book? Where did the idea begin? What challenges did you face while creating it? What makes your story different from the hundreds of other books competing for attention?

A FiiP author feature may introduce readers to your background, writing journey, inspiration, and future plans. Your book is important, but your personal story can give readers another reason to care about it.

Authors are not mysterious creatures living entirely on coffee and misplaced commas. Well, not entirely.

Sharing the person behind the book helps readers form a connection that a sales description alone may never create.

Who Can Submit a Book?

The FiiP feature program is open to:

FiiP is looking for creative voices, interesting books, and author stories worth sharing. FiiP reviews every submission based on quality, suitability, timing, and available promotional opportunities.

You may submit more than one book, but please submit each title separately.

How the Free Book Promotion Program Works

The process keeps everything simple.

1. Submit Your Book

Complete the FiiP submission form with your author name, email address, book title, genre, and purchase link.

Provide accurate information and make sure the link leads directly to a working book page. A broken link is not mysterious or suspenseful. That means the link does not work.

2. FiiP Reviews the Submission

FiiP considers every submission for website features, author spotlights, newsletter mentions, social media posts, or themed book roundups.

Submitting a book does not guarantee placement. FiiP wants each feature to make sense for the book, the author, and the readers who follow the site.

3. Selected Authors Are Contacted

When a book is chosen, FiiP contacts the author using the email address provided with the submission.

Additional information may be requested, including an author biography, book cover, author photograph, promotional links, or details about the story behind the book.

4. The Feature Is Published and Shared

Selected books may be introduced through FiiP.net, the newsletter, social media, or other book-discovery content.

The purpose is not to promise instant bestseller status. Anyone promising that probably also owns a bridge they would like to sell you.

Instead, FiiP offers another practical opportunity to place your book in front of readers, writers, and indie-book supporters.

Why Book Promotion Matters for Indie Authors

Publishing a book does not automatically make it visible.

Online retailers contain millions of titles, and even a well-written book with a strong cover can disappear without consistent promotion. Authors need multiple ways for readers to encounter their work.

A feature can help create:

  • Another searchable page connected to your book
  • A shareable link for social media
  • Additional exposure for your author name
  • Greater awareness of your book and genre
  • A possible introduction to readers outside your current audience
  • Fresh promotional material you can continue sharing

One feature is not a complete marketing plan. However, it can become another useful piece of a larger strategy that includes newsletters, social media, author websites, reviews, advertising, and reader recommendations.

Book promotion usually works through accumulation. One post leads to a click, one click leads to a new reader, and one reader may eventually recommend the book to someone else.

Why Is FiiP Offering Free Author Features?

FiiP is expanding its book-discovery and author-promotion program. During this early stage, submissions are being accepted without a feature fee.

This allows FiiP to discover new authors, develop the program, build stronger promotional content, and introduce readers to books they may not see through traditional publishing channels.

It also gives early participants the opportunity to be considered before paid promotional placements officially begin.

The free period is temporary. Feature pricing is expected to begin at approximately $25 once the introductory program ends.

In other words, waiting may cost you more than procrastination usually does.

What Makes a Strong Submission?

Before submitting, take a few minutes to make sure your book is ready to be presented professionally.

Use a polished book cover that is easy to read, even when displayed as a small image. Provide a clear description that explains the central conflict or benefit of the book without wandering into every subplot, character, family tree, or weather report.

Your author biography should be brief, interesting, and relevant. A professional author photograph also helps. Readers respond better when an author image looks intentional rather than something cropped from a family reunion in 2009.

Most importantly, make it easy for FiiP and potential readers to understand what makes your book worth discovering.

Submit Your Book While Features Are Still Free

FiiP wants to help readers discover fresh indie books while giving authors an additional way to share their work.

For now, submitting a book for feature consideration is free. That will change as the program grows.

Submitting does not guarantee selection, but doing nothing guarantees something else entirely: your book will not be considered.

Take advantage of the introductory opportunity, share your book, and tell FiiP why readers should know about it.

Submit your book today before free feature opportunities disappear.
